Whaling in Finnmark was mainly run from land-based stations, such as in Oksevåg, where you can still see a 3-metre long steam boiler. A waymarked trail takes you from a picnic area and the information board, through the world's northernmost birch forest and to Oksevåg landing station. The history of this area is a part of the "Footprints in the north" - project.
